The organizers of the 8th European Congress of Mathematics have established a fund that will offer 8ECM Scholarships to support students and mathematicians to participate at the Congress.
The Fund's aim is to encourage participation at the 8ECM for outstanding students and researchers who demonstrate potential and are coming from developing countries as defined by the European Mathematical Society, and other countries as determined in the Open Call for 8ECM Scholarships.
8ECM Scholarships will be distributed among different target groups:
• Bachelor and Masters students with recommendations from two professors (allotted 15 % of the Fund)
• PhD Students (allotted 45 % of the Fund)
• Postdoc researchers with no more than 5 years after PhD before applying for the scholarship (allotted 25 % of the Fund)
• Senior researchers (allotted 15 % of the Fund)
The 8ECM Scholarship covers a congress fee waiver and two-star accommodation in the near vicinity of the 8ECM, in student dormitories arranged by the 8ECM organizers. The Fund does not cover travel expenses, nor any other living costs.
