The Foundation organizes the Heidelberg Laureate Forum (HLF), an international networking event where 200 outstanding young researchers of mathematics and computer science interact with recipients of the disciplines’ most prestigious awards: Abel Prize, ACM A.M. Turing Award, ACM Prize in Computing, Fields Medal and Nevanlinna Prize.
Another goal of the HLFF is to draw public attention to and stimulate interest in mathematics and computer science. At its Mathematics Informatics Station (MAINS), an array of exhibitions and events designed for all age groups are hosted throughout the year.
The HLFF was founded and is supported by the Klaus Tschira Foundation.
Heidelberg Laureate Forum: A Life Changing Experience
The HLF enables selected young researchers to spend a week interacting with role models and mentors. Through this unique platform, the HLF promotes interdisciplinary exchange, scientific discussion and mutual inspiration. Traditionally the HLF takes place in Heidelberg every year in the last full week of September. The 8th HLF will take place digitally from September 20 to 23, 2021.
A glimpse into the Heidelberg Laureate Forum:
”The HLF has been one of the best professional experiences one could have. Meeting the Laureates was a tremendous honor, and speaking with them and with so many young researchers about technology and the future was truly inspiring. It has been an unforgettable week!“

As HLF alumni, young researchers benefit from a wide range of offers such as mentoring programs, workshops and interactive get-togethers. The heart of the HLF alumni is AlumNode, a dynamic platform connecting scientists from diverse backgrounds.
Journalists
Journalists all around the world from various specializations are encouraged to cover the HLF each year. Additionally, they may apply for a limited number of travel grants provided by the HLFF.
