The Slovenian Rectors' Conference supported the bid of Slovene institutions to organise the European Congress of Mathematics in 2020. 

The decision was taken during their last meeting, on June, 24th, 2016. 

This was, however, only the last support received so far. The regional character of the Portoroz/Piran congress bid is attracting support through Europe. We recently received support from the Croatian Mathematical Society, which is the 26th support letter from abroad. 

Besides institutions from abroad, the bid is strongly supported also in Slovenia, as all organisations in the field of mathematics cooperate in the bid. They were supported by the Ministry of education, science and sport, Slovenian Research Agency and Slovenian Science of Academy and Arts. And now, also the Slovenian Rectors' Conference, as the highest body representing universities and thus higher education, offered the support.
