Foundation Compositio Mathematica donated a substantial part of the EMS Prizes Fund

8th European Congress of Mathematics is proud to announce that Foundation Compositio Mathematica has kindly offered to donate a substantial part of the EMS Prizes Fund. At every European Congress of Mathematics, ten EMS prizes are awarded to outstanding young mathematicians with a European background.

The Foundation Compositio Mathematica is the foundation behind the journals Compositio Mathematica and Algebraic Geometry. It has the aim of publishing first class papers in the central areas of mathematical research and supporting mathematics and mathematical research. Compositio Mathematica was founded in the 1930s by L.E.J. Brouwe and since January 2004 the journal is published in cooperation with the London Mathematical Society.

The Foundation Compositio Mathematica supports green open access and in 2014 the Foundation started the publication of the open access journal Algebraic Geometry; it also supports the open access journal Symmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications (SIGMA).

We invite you to freely access the list of contents and abstracts here.

Every three years The Foundation awards The Compositio Mathematica Prize for the best paper published in Compositio in a preceding three year period. It also supports mathematics via subsidies for mathematical conferences, prizes for mathematical accomplishments and other initiatives.
