Half of the 8th European Congress of Mathematics programme is already behind us!
In the morning, Plenary speakers Professors Franc Forstnerič (University of Ljubljana) and Professor Gitta Kutyniok (Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich) delivered their lectures. Professor Franc Forstnerič held his lecture in front of live audience which was also streamd to all participants who are attending the congress on distance.
Afterwards, the progamme continued with Minisymposia while some participants took the opportunity to visit the University of Primorska headquarters in Koper, the exhibition Women of Mathematics throughout Europe which is held in the Armerija Palace at the University, and the IT support of the congress which is situated at the University of Primorska Faculty of Mathematic, Natural Sciences and Information Sciences (UP FAMNIT).
The afternoon started with the Invited talks and talks of the EMS Prize winners, and was continued with the Public lecture delivered by Professors Stanislav Smirnov (Université de Genève). The video-streaming of the 3rd day of the 8ECM finished with the Abel lecture of Professor László Lovász.
