On 14 September, the first meeting of the organizing committee was held at the premisses of the University of Primorska. 

This was the first official meeting after the selection of Slovenia as the organizer of the congress. During the meeting the organizing committee was constituted. You can see the members of the organizing committee here.

Organizers also set objectives of the congress.  Popularisation of the European Mathematical Society and promotion of the membership in the organisation will be one of the main focuses of the congress. 

Additionally, participants discussed experiences of previous congresses and outlined first suggestions for further improvements and suggestions for the event.
